What is Career & College Promise (CCP)? The Career & College Promise Program is is North Carolina’s dual enrollment program that allows and pays for Tuition for eligible NC high school juniors and seniors to enroll in College Classes at NC community colleges (CPCC for Cardinals). Students earn college credit and high school credit for practically no cost to them. CCP courses take place of West Charlotte electives and students can chose from online or face to face classes with CPCC. Students can work on the online classes from West Charlotte Learning lab or can leave West Charlotte early to attend their CPCC classes if their school schedule permits and they have their own transportation.
Why take CCP courses? Research shows that high school students who take CCP are more likely to attend and graduate from college with an advance certification or degree. Because CCP pays for college classes, the program also helps reduce the cost of college and makes post-secondary education a viable option for those who believe that the cost puts college out of reach for them. Moreover the CCP courses taken within the College Transfer pathway have the same weight as an AP class (1 quality point added) in a student's transcript
