Tamara D. Glover, Bio (2018-2019) West Charlotte High School (CDC)
Leading with her heart, head and hands Dr. Glover is the Career Development Coordinator at West Charlotte High School. Dr. Glover works collaboratively with administrators, student services personnel, and teachers to ensure the delivery of exemplary career and college readiness programs. Dr. Glover graduated from West Charlotte High School in 1992 and continued to earn multiple college degrees and certifications from Elizabeth City State, Hampton University, NC A&T University, University of Virginia, James Madison and Nova Southeastern University. Dr. Glover has 20 years of service as a passionate educator with a school counseling background. She is also, a graduate student currently at UNC Charlotte pursuing her degree in School Administration through the Aspiring Principal's Program.
Dr. Glover has a notable reputation for increasing climate and culture, executing work based learning initiatives, coordinating career fairs, promoting high school graduation rates, coordinating STEM special projects, promoting career & college readiness programs for (first generation) college students, CPCC enrollment, MYEP, work force development, internships and apprenticeship program. She has been most successful facilitating STEM Labs, Work keys, and Parent Lunch & Learns and Scholarship workshops to promote student achievement. Dr. Glover was the first Academy Coordinator (2015-2018) at Phillip O. Berry to earn three Distinguished NAF Academies in Engineering, Health Science and Information Technology in 2018.
Dr. Glover has earned multiple community awards to include NAF Advisory Board Member of the Year, Crown Jewel Links Youth Empowerment, Harbor Club Youth Advocate & Service Award, NPS World Class Leadership Award, STEM Leadership Academy Award, and Girl Scouts Volunteer Award, Girls on the Run Award, Tech Explorers Award, NSBE Education Distinction Award and Most Outstanding School Counselor Inspiration Award. Most impressively, Dr. Glover has written over a million dollars in grants to promote STEAM programs in Title One Schools, Celebrity charities and character building programs at non-profit community agencies. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling with her daughter, piano lessons, Girls who code, the stock market playbook, gardening and interior decorating. She attends Elevation Church and she is a partaker at New Life Fellowship Church with Pastor John P. Kee.
